Design-Build

Shoreline Builders offers architectural design services through experienced, registered architects for custom homes, large-scale renovations, and additions. We have a well-established design-build process that takes our homeowners from initial design concepts through detailed construction drawings and project construction.  We help our homeowners evaluate design options and material selections and the impact they have on project construction and project budget. When the desired design is achieved, we then manage construction pre-planning, project budgeting, permitting activities, subcontractor, vendor and project scheduling to prepare for the construction phase.

Design-Assist

If you already have an architect, Design Assist is an option where the homeowner engages with Shoreline Builders in the early stages of design to provide a collaborative approach between homeowner, architect and builder. As homes become more complicated to construct and many are in high impact coastal areas, utilizing our expertise in building technology and construction methods can greatly improve the outcome. Additionally, as a knowledgeable builder, we can provide feedback on building materials selection, cost information and pre-construction services as the plans are being developed.

Drawing on over 40 years of construction experience in residential remodeling, historic renovation, new home construction and expertise in high-performance construction, Jim offers hourly construction consulting services to homeowners at any stage of a project. He provides professional expert guidance and oversight whether you are in the initial stages of contemplating a project, are already working with an architect or are fully engaged with a project under construction. 

Jim is able to see the big picture and approach your project with a thorough knowledge of each aspect of residential construction. Our consulting services are available to homeowners at any stage of their project, but ideally we are there from the beginning to provide the guidance and planning to take a project successfully from concept through construction.
